Mobi-Air, makers of the new low energy Hybrid Air Filtration platform designed specifically for the hygiene industry start rolling out production of the Mobi-Flex second generation of machines. Simon Liew, Mobi-Air manufacturing vice president says, “Learning from our initial first generation of equipment design and non-automated production processes, the second generation equipment has not only been enhanced to increase process reliability but has been optimized for automated production, taking into account the total manufacturing and commercial supply chain for optimal manufacturing efficiency This ensures Mobi-Air production efficiency and significantly boosts production capacity. Investing heavily in the total supply chain, the most efficient combination of automation, unique production processes and use of Singaporean and Malay employees has been used throughout. The significant investment made in dedicated tooling and training employees means we have one of the most advanced manufacturing supply chains in the air filtration sector. The investment has been made in a variety of countries including Germany, China, Malaysia and Singapore. This investment essentially allows us to introduce a far superior machine at a much lower price point of even today’s incumbent air filtration technology with the lower price points opening up new sales opportunities in the emerging markets that typically suffer from significant air pollution issues and where air/dust explosions occur on a regular basis.” Martin Scaife, managing director of Mobi-Air adds, “After significant engineering resource and capital investment, the Mobi-Air team is very happy to finally see roll-out production start. With high precision components coming from Germany and components being sourced from their most optimal location and with final assembly in Asia, we can offer a breakthrough high performance filtration technology at a breakthrough price point. Offering a standardized equipment platform with an un-restricted process window allows a wide range of air volumes to be handled on a single machine and is not only of benefit to our end users where a single machine capably to handle adult, baby, fem convertors but this process breakthrough has allowed our production engineers to truly optimise production focusing on a standardised product range. Despite producing a standard product range, plug-in equipment options can be added to the platform thereby giving the end-user endless customisation options to suit all of their needs. Although the hygiene sector is our home territory, we are seeing huge suctions from other market sectors such as textile, tobacco, food and battery production and the new production facility capable to produce up to 400 units annually will have the capacity to also meet demand in these non-hygiene sectors.”
